Oil Analysis
A small sample of oil is taken from your engine and put in this analysis bottle. The label is filled out with your information. The bottle is placed in the provided postage- paid envelope and then you drop it off at the post office.

In the images below, we can see typical oil analysis results done on new oil from the barrel, and oil from a Reefer engine with the EXTREME filter. Ultra-fine filtration kept the engine oil 2 steps of the ISO cleanliness code cleaner than new oil. Oil color doesn't always mean oil is clean or dirty. But clear oil on a diesel usually means the oil is clean! The truck on the left has a delete and the EXTREME oil filter. The oil will likely be more clear. Lynn of Gearhead oil analysis explains another way you can tell if diesel oil is in better shape. But never depend on the clues alone, be sure to get your oil analyzed regularly. A blind oil change means you don't know what the oil analysis could have told you. The oil may have been still good if you have the EXTREME oil filter, or it may look good but be full of fuel and be causing damage to the engine. The only way to know for sure is to do the oil analysis. If the oil is good, keep on going! If the oil shows a warning, fix the engine problem, change the oil, and off you go again. This is smart maintenance! EXTREME bypass filters combined with oil analysis can save you thousands in wasteful oil changes and catch engine problems before you have to buy a new engine.
