Doesn’t oil break down over time?

Oil breaks down due to contamination and/or excessive heat. Because the Insane Diesel bypass oil filter keeps oil as clean or cleaner than new oil, oil can stay healthy for a very long time in a healthy engine. Some trucks have gone over 100,000 miles or years on the same oil when fine-filtered. Some clam that mining equipment engines have used the same oil for 10 years or more, using much more expensive ultra-fine filtering. What about viscosity?

Again, because the Insane Diesel bypass oil filter keeps contaminants out of engine oil, oil analysis has proven that the viscosity range stays very constant in a healthy engine. Without the fine-filtering of the ID bypass oil filter, contaminants can change oil viscosity, endangering the engine and its performance. NOTE: Fuel dilution can change oil viscosity but can’t be removed by any oil filter. Will the Insane Diesel bypass oil filter remove additives?

It will not. While it does catch particles down to 1 Micron, additives exist on a much smaller molecular level. Once a year or 15,000 miles when the filters are changed, oil analysis shows that topping off the oil actually can increase additives.

Will the Oahu Clean Oil bypass oil filter system void the warranty on a new vehicle?

The stock oil filter system stays in place, unaffected, keeping the warranty valid. However, some warranties require owners to show scheduled oil changes. Although regular healthy oil analysis should be sufficient for warranty purposes, many owners simply continue oil changes through the warranty period to avoid any litigation. No problem, the ID bypass oil filter will clean up the new oil too :-)

What is needed for installation?

Installation is fairly simple for most engine and car/truck combinations.  Each custom installation needs 3 things: 1) Oil Pressure source, 2) Oil return port (non-pressurized), and 3) a mounting location. This may require adapter fittings specific to the engine and/or custom parts like ported oil filler caps, or OEM oil filter “pancake” adapters. Learn more in this short video:
